Overview:
As a Histotechnician, you will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination, ensuring the accuracy and quality of histopathological processes. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with medical and laboratory teams to facilitate accurate diagnoses. Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in histotechnology or a related specialty.
- ASCP certification is mandatory.
- Proficiency in tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining techniques.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety and compliance standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and handle multiple tasks.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with automated histology systems.
- Knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS).
- Familiarity with laboratory quality assurance procedures.
- Prior experience working in urology or specialty laboratories.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or higher in Histotechnology, Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of recent, relevant experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting.
Other Requirements:
- ASCP certification is required.
- This position requires working scheduled hours from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, days vary.
- Ability to commit to an 11-week assignment starting on 05/18/2026.
- No local candidates within 50 miles will be considered.
- Must be able to adhere to all safety and compliance standards.
