What You'll Bring:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in histology, with a strong focus on tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
- Proficiency in accessioning specimens using Cerner and handling surgical tissue specimens.
- Knowledge of pathology, cytology, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) techniques.
- Certification through ASCP or equivalent preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
- Additional certifications in histotechnology or related fields.
- Ability to adapt to a rotating night shift schedule and work during major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Histotechnology, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience within a histology specialty.
Other Requirements:
- Must be available to work the schedule from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, totaling 13 weeks.
- Willingness to work during major holidays and a minor holiday (Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve, New Years Eve).
- Must work within the department handling incoming specimens, processing tissue, embedding, sectioning, and slide staining.
- Valid licensure and certification required; travel and other reimbursements applicable.
