Hospice Volunteer

About the Role:
Solara Hospice LLC is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Volunteer to join our caring team in Waltham, MA. Responsibilities:

• Provide companionship and emotional support to hospice patients and their families
• Assist with non-medical tasks such as reading, conversation, and light errands
• Offer respite support to family caregivers, allowing them time to rest and recharge
• Participate in volunteer orientation and ongoing hospice care training
• Document and communicate patient interactions and observations to the care team
• Support bereavement outreach and memorial activities as needed
• Assist with administrative or community outreach tasks as directed

Requirements:

• Genuine compassion and empathy for patients facing end-of-life care
• Strong interpersonal and active listening skills
• Ability to maintain composure and sensitivity in emotionally challenging situations
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to scheduled volunteer hours
• Completion of required hospice volunteer training program
• Background check clearance as required by hospice regulations
• Prior experience in healthcare, caregiving, or volunteer work is a plus
