Hospital Specimen Technician

Pride Health is hiring a Hospital- Specimen Technician - to support our client's healthcare team in Green Bay, WI.

Job Details:

Job Title: Hospital- Specimen Technician  

Location: Green Bay WI 54303 

Pay Rate: $18.12 - $20.84/Hr.   

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am to 4:30PM (40 hours per week)  

Duration:  3 months+ contract to permanent role

 

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing, preparation, accessioning, and test send-outs.

• Verify test orders, specimen requirements, and laboratory processing procedures.

• Utilize Hospital LIS and Quest systems for data entry and specimen tracking.

• Troubleshoot specimen discrepancies, missing information, TIQ, and TNP issues.

• Coordinate with hospital staff and Quest teams regarding specimen-related concerns.

• Handle inbound calls and provide customer support regarding testing requirements and cancellations.

• Maintain accurate records, follow laboratory protocols, and adhere to biohazard safety procedures.
   

Education/Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma or GED. 

• 1–3 years of related work experience. 

• Strong data entry skills (6,000 keystrokes/hour) 

• Medical or laboratory background preferred. 

• Experience with hospital laboratory or LIS systems preferred. 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
