Hospitalist Physician (Days & Nights)

**Bill Rate: $299, plus VMS fee.

Required Credentials

Must have in hand for presentation:

• Active Mississippi medical license
• Active DEA registration for Mississippi
• State CSR (if required by Mississippi)
• Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in:
  • Internal Medicine (ABIM/AOBIM)
  • Family Medicine (ABFM/AOFM)

Schedule Requirements

• Must be willing to work days and nights
• Must provide 7-10 shifts per month minimum
• 7-on/7-off scheduling model

Hospital Details

• Closed ICU
• Family Medicine Residency Program
• Round-robin admissions
• EMR: Epic
• No procedures required for Hospitalists

Coverage Model

Day Shift

• 2 Physicians + 2 APPs (7a-5p)
• 2 Physicians + 2 APPs (8a-6p)

Night Shift

• 1 Physician (7p-7a)
• 1 APP (6p-4a)

CCU Coverage

Day

• 1 Physician (7a-7p)
• 1 APP (7a-5p)

Night

• 1 APP (7p-7a)

Responsibilities

• Inpatient hospital medicine coverage
• Respond to:
  • Codes
  • Rapid Response Teams (RRTs)

Education & Training

• MD or DO
• Completion of a 3-year residency in:
  • Internal Medicine
  • Family Medicine
  • Emergency Medicine
• Moonlighting approval acceptable during 3rd year where applicable

Clinical Experience Requirement

Candidate must demonstrate one of the following:

• Provision of inpatient or outpatient care to at least 30 patients within the past 12 months, or
• Successful completion of an accredited residency, fellowship, or qualifying research experience within the past 24 months

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Active unrestricted MS license and DEA already in hand
• BC/BE IM or FM
• Comfortable with both day and night coverage
• Able to commit to at least 7-10 shifts monthly
• Experience in hospital medicine preferred

Key Recruiting Point: The biggest screening hurdle is that candidates must already possess an active Mississippi license and Mississippi DEA at the time of presentation.
