Host – Front of House (FOH)

Hyman’s Seafood is a family-owned Charleston landmark serving classic Lowcountry seafood with genuine Southern hospitality. We are a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant serving thousands of guests each week, and we’re looking for a Host who is organized, personable, and thrives in a busy environment.

This role is ideal for someone who sets the tone at the door, stays calm under pressure, and keeps things moving with confidence and warmth.

Position Overview

The Host is responsible for managing the front door, greeting guests, and maintaining flow throughout the restaurant. This role plays a critical part in shaping the guest experience from the moment they walk in. Required Hours at this time: Monday-Thursday 10:45am-4:00pm. Additional hours may become available in the coming months for those who prefer weekends and nightshifts.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
• Manage waitlists and reservations with accuracy and urgency
• Communicate quoted wait times and manage guest expectations
• Coordinate seating to optimize flow across multiple dining areas
• Work closely with managers and servers to balance sections and pace
• Answer phones and assist with guest inquiries
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entry area
• Assist with to-go orders and guest support as needed
