About the Opportunity

A select-service hotel under a major brand in Ridgecrest, CA is hiring an Assistant General Manager. You’ll report to the General Manager, lead the department heads, and run the hotel with full authority when the GM is out. The hotel is run by a hands-on owner-operator. Leadership is on property and close to the numbers, and AGMs here are developed toward General Manager.

What You’ll Do

• Lead daily hotel operations across front desk, housekeeping, breakfast and food service, maintenance, and guest services
• Act as General Manager when needed, including decisions, owner reporting, and emergency response
• Drive guest satisfaction scores, service recovery, and brand standards
• Partner with the GM and sales on occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR goals, pricing, and cost control
• Manage labor scheduling and productivity, department budgets, and expenses
• Hire, train, and develop supervisors and hourly team members, and reduce turnover
• Respond to guest reviews and resolve guest issues before they escalate
• Keep the hotel compliant with life safety, food safety, brand audits, and California wage and hour requirements
• Identify and carry out operating improvements that guests notice and that show up on the P&L

What You Bring

• 2+ years of hotel leadership experience as an Assistant General Manager, Front Office Manager, Director of Operations, Operations Manager, or similar
• Select-service or full-service experience with a major brand (Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Hyatt, or similar) preferred
• Experience covering for a General Manager
• Comfort reading a P&L, labor model, and revenue reports, and acting on them
• A record of improving guest scores, labor productivity, or profit
• Experience coaching hourly and salaried teams
• Working knowledge of brand standards, life safety, and California employment law
• Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak periods
