Hotel Banquet Server.
The Marriott Columbia is looking for responsible and motivated service professionals to join its banquet team. This is a PART TIME position. Hours vary based of events. Weekends are a must.
As a Banquet Server, you would be responsible for delivering and serving food and beverage items to guests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
Responsibilities:
Include but not limited to:
- Assist with the complete setup and breakdown of the banquet area.
- Relay banquet requests to the appropriate person.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and awareness of sanitary practices.
- Anticipate guests’ needs and exceed customer service expectations.
- Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Relay important information about orders, allergies and special requests to the appropriate person.
- Respond urgently and appropriately to any concerns.
- Present in professional appearance and mannerisms.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old. Banquet experience preferred but not required.
- Training and willingness to continue learning about banquet function success.
- Exceptional listening and communication skills.
- Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Availability to work around peak hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- A polite, engaging personality.
- Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
- Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment.
