Flexible, On-Call Work That Makes a Difference
Santa Barbara City Colleges Disability Services and Programs for Students (DSPS) department is seeking dependable, compassionate individuals to join our Student Accessibility Support Team. Successful applicants will be added to our on-call employee pool and offered assignments as student accommodation needs arise throughout the academic year. The hiring and onboarding process takes approximately two weeks and includes HR paperwork, a TB test, and Live Scan fingerprinting. After receiving HR clearance, employees will complete a required, paid DSPS training. Once training is complete, youll be eligible to accept assignments as they become available and can choose to work as many-or as few-assignments as fit your schedule.

On-call, day/evening shifts, as-needed
Up to 19.5 hours per week
Up to 175 days per fiscal year
Pay range: $19.57 - $20.55 (Salary Schedule 22B, Steps 4 or 5)

Representative Duties
What Youll Do
As a member of the Student Accessibility Support Team, youll help ensure students with disabilities have equal access to classroom instruction, materials, and activities. Depending on your skills and the needs of each student, you may provide one or more of the following services:
Take class notes
Read course materials aloud
Transcribe dictated work
Describe visual information during class
Provide classroom mobility assistance
Provide reader or transcription services during test
Drive a tram to assist with transportation around campus
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
English 110 (or equivalent)
Math 117/137 (or equivalent) for math-related assignments
Successful completion of the required DSPS Orientation and Training
