About the PositionHilton Garden Inn Evanston is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and service-driven
Housekeeping Manager to lead our housekeeping team and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate is an organized leader with a passion for hospitality, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to motivate team members while ensuring that guest rooms and public areas consistently meet Hilton Garden Inn brand standards.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, coach, and motivate housekeeping staff, including room attendants, housepersons, and laundry team members.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and public areas to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and brand standards are consistently maintained.
- Daily Operations: Coordinate room assignments, cleaning schedules, staffing levels, and daily housekeeping priorities based on occupancy and arrivals.
- Guest Satisfaction: Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns regarding room cleanliness, amenities, and housekeeping services.
- Staff Scheduling: Prepare schedules, monitor attendance, manage productivity, and ensure adequate departmental coverage.
- Inventory Management: Monitor housekeeping supplies, linens, guest amenities, and equipment while controlling costs and minimizing waste.
- Communication: Collaborate with the front desk, maintenance, and hotel leadership to coordinate room readiness, maintenance issues, and special guest requests.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with hotel policies, workplace safety procedures, chemical-handling requirements, and applicable sanitation standards.
- Performance Management: Conduct team meetings, provide constructive feedback, support employee development, and address performance concerns.
- Operational Reporting: Maintain inspection records, productivity reports, inventory logs, and other departmental documentation.
Qualifications- Previous housekeeping leadership experience in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Strong supervisory, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of hotel housekeeping procedures, room inspections, and cleanliness standards.
- Excellent communication and guest-service skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with computers, scheduling tools, and hotel property management systems is preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the hotel during the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation.
