HR and Payroll Specialist | ON SITE

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented HR and Payroll Specialist to support our team and manage day-to-day human resources and payroll operations. This role supports recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and accurate, timely payroll processing.

The ideal candidate communicates professionally, handles sensitive information with discretion, and balances employee needs with business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

•⁠ ⁠Coordinate recruitment, interviews, hiring documentation, onboarding, and offboarding.

•⁠ ⁠Maintain accurate, confidential employee files and HR system records.

•⁠ ⁠Respond to employee questions about policies, benefits, leave, and payroll.

•⁠ ⁠Support employee relations and work with management to address workplace concerns.

•⁠ ⁠Assist with performance reviews, employee development, and related documentation.

•⁠ ⁠Maintain and communicate HR policies and procedures.

•⁠ ⁠Administer benefits enrollment and employee leave records.

•⁠ ⁠Process payroll according to the company’s established pay schedule.

•⁠ ⁠Review timecards, overtime, paid time off, deductions, and approved payroll adjustments.

•⁠ ⁠Verify and enter new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and other payroll updates.

•⁠ ⁠Reconcile payroll reports, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate corrections.

•⁠ ⁠Work with accounting and payroll providers on reporting and required documentation.

•⁠ ⁠Support compliance with applicable employment and payroll requirements.

Qualifications

•⁠ ⁠Three to five years of relevant HR experience, including hands-on payroll processing.

•⁠ ⁠Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

•⁠ ⁠Working knowledge of HR practices, payroll processes, and applicable employment requirements.

•⁠ ⁠Experience using Human Resources Information System, payroll software, and spreadsheet tools.

•⁠ ⁠Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.

•⁠ ⁠Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

•⁠ ⁠Ability to manage confidential information and meet recurring deadlines.

•⁠ ⁠Transportation or logistics industry experience preferred.
