About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable, proactive HR Business Partner to support key people initiatives across the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this full-time role partners closely with leaders and employees to drive recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, training, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to building a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace. This role is based in Lincolnshire, Illinois, with remote flexibility for the right candidate.

What You'll Do
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
• Lead full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, reference checks, and offer coordination
• Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs and build pipelines of qualified candidates
• Ensure recruiting practices comply with applicable laws and internal policies
Onboarding & Offboarding
· Coordinate and lead onboarding to create a smooth, engaging transition for new hires
• Manage offboarding processes and conduct exit interviews to capture insights and support smooth transitions
• Ensure timely, accurate completion of onboarding and offboarding documentation
Benefits Administration
• Offer assistance to our external HR partner in administering employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and employee education
• Assist our external HR partner in serving as a liaison with benefits providers and respond to employee questions
• Assist as needed with open enrollment process and maintaining compliance with applicable benefits regulations
Training & Development
• Coordinate employee training initiatives, including compliance and role-specific learning where applicable
• Assist external HR partner in tracking participation in and completion of required training programs where applicable
• Support leaders in identifying and implementing employee development opportunities
Performance Management
• Coordinate and track annual and interim performance review processes
• Partner with managers to support timely evaluations and meaningful development plans
• Help align performance outcomes with organizational goals and compensation planning
Employee Relations
• Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, practices, and procedures
• Address employee concerns, support investigations, and help resolve workplace issues appropriately
• Promote a respectful, compliant, and collaborative workplace culture
Policy & Compliance
• Partner with external HR partner to maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, EEO, and ADA requirements, as applicable
• Assist with internal audits and maintain documentation to support compliance efforts
HR Records Management
• Maintain accurate, confidential HR records, including personnel files, I-9s, training logs, and benefits documentation
• Ensure data integrity within HR-related systems
• Generate reports and support audits, compliance reviews, and other HR inquiries as needed
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 3–5 years of progressive HR experience
• Strong working knowledge of HR best practices and employment law
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Experience with HR systems, applicant tracking systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
· HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP
· Previous experience with Rippling HRIS
· Experience supporting a family-owned business
