LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director for a mission-driven organization in Baltimore, MD. This contract opportunity is ideal for a seasoned HR professional who thrives in a leadership role, provides strategic guidance to organizational leaders, and oversees a wide range of HR functions while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted HR advisor to leadership on employee relations, performance management, workplace conflict, disciplinary actions, and separations.
Manage complex employee relations issues from initial review through resolution, ensuring thorough documentation, confidentiality, and compliance.
Conduct and oversee investigations involving workplace concerns, including discrimination, harassment, misconduct, ethics complaints, and policy violations.
Provide oversight and support across key HR functions, including payroll, benefits administration, HRIS management, recruiting, onboarding, training, compliance, and policy administration.
Partner with leadership on HR initiatives, organizational projects, audits, process improvements, and policy development.
Mentor and support HR staff while promoting consistency and best practices across the HR team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a strong focus on employee relations.
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification strongly preferred.
Extensive knowledge of employment law, compliance, investigations, HR operations, and employee relations best practices.
Experience working with HRIS platforms required; UKG experience preferred.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
Additional Details
Candidates should be comfortable with occasional evening, weekend, local, and overnight travel as needed.
Background screening required.
Compensation
$46-$58/hour (depending on experience)
