HR Generalist - Beauty Retail (Full Time)
Location: Charlotte, NC
Reports to: Owner/CEO
Overview
We are a fast-growing multi-store beauty retail company looking for a proactive, hands-on HR Manager to oversee all people operations across our stores. This role ensures we hire great people, train them well, retain strong teams, and maintain a positive, compliant workplace culture.
Responsibilities
Recruiting & Hiring
- Manage full recruiting process for all stores
- Post jobs, screen applicants, conduct interviews
- Assist store managers with staffing planning
- Create pipeline of strong beauty retail candidates
Onboarding & Training - Create onboarding systems & orientation materials
- Schedule and deliver new-hire training
- Maintain training library (customer service, product knowledge, safety)
- Support managers with performance coaching
HR Administration - Maintain employee files (SharePoint/Office 365)
- Process new hires, terminations, and changes
- Coordinate with payroll for accurate hours & compliance
- Maintain handbook & HR policies
Employee Relations - Support employees with HR questions
- Mediate conflicts professionally
- Investigate complaints discreetly
- Ensure respectful, positive culture
Compliance & Safety - Ensure compliance with labor laws
- Manage safety training (fire, winter, chemicals)
- Maintain incident reporting process
Culture & Communication - Support Manager meetings, recognition programs
- Set up communication via Microsoft Teams
- Plan employee appreciation events
Qualifications - 3-5 years HR or recruiting experience (retail preferred)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Forms)
- Ability to travel to multiple stores weekly
Compensation - Salary range: $55,000 - $75,000 depending on experience
