• Performs scientific research
• Assists with training and direction of graduate students and volunteers
• Assists with data analysis, the preparation of manuscripts and posters
• Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of lab and lab equipment; including ordering supplies and certification of receipt in appropriate university systems
• Presents data at lab meeting and possibly regional and national meetings
• Remains current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.)
• Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP's values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution
• Performs all other duties as assigned

• Experience in a research laboratory, either through employment or academic study.
• Proficiency in molecular biology assays.
• Willingness to work with infectious agents under Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) precautions.
• Experience conducting experiments with small animals in compliance with IACUC policies and procedures.
