What a day looks like
You arrive to review fabrication schedules and takt time goals, then stage the right sheets and drops so downstream teams never wait. You climb into the Hubtex Side Loader, engage the Vacuum Assist Lift, and move sheet steel precisely and safely from yard and storage locations to the right fabrication work centers. Throughout the shift, you read fabrication sheets, cut plans, nesting drawings, and production schedules to kit materials accurately, record inventory movements, and keep scrap and reusable drops clearly identified and logged.
As production pulses, you respond to routine material shortages and delivery issues to prevent interruptions. You conduct daily equipment inspections, flag maintenance needs early, and use your troubleshooting ability to recognize when machinery isn’t performing, identify root causes, and make adjustments. You communicate constantly with Team Leaders, Station Leaders, Material Coordinators, Supervisors, and production employees to align priorities and keep work flowing to standard.
Core outcomes you drive
- Safe, efficient operation of Hubtex Side Loader and Vacuum Assist Lift to transport, store, rotate, and deliver materials.
- On-time material kitting and staging aligned to production requirements and takt time targets.
- Accurate inventory through timely transactions, cycle counts, and verification activities.
- Thorough capture and documentation of reusable scrap and drop materials to support utilization.
- Reliable retrieval of materials from storage and yard locations as schedules demand.
- Daily equipment inspections and prompt reporting of maintenance concerns.
- Rapid response to shortages and delivery challenges to minimize downtime.
- Clear communication with all levels to support safety, quality, and departmental performance.
- Peer support and training for less experienced operators as needed.
- Execution against standard processes and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) defined in BAC Excellence (BAC-X), including Global Assembly Standardization (GAS) Expectations.

- Communicate effectively with Team Leaders, Station Leaders, Material Coordinators, Supervisors, and production employees.
- Understand internal customers—previous and next stations—and the finished goods customer, including how quality and on-time delivery affect their processes.
- Use appropriate methods and interpersonal skills to develop and motivate teammates.
What you bring
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- At least one year in manufacturing, fabrication, warehousing, material handling, or related industrial environments preferred.
- Experience with powered industrial equipment preferred; Lean manufacturing exposure preferred.
- Ability to safely operate a Hubtex Side Loader and related material handling equipment.
- Working knowledge of fabrication processes, material flow, and production support.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication paperwork, cut plans, nesting layouts, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of inventory control, part numbering, and material tracking; able to use inventory databases and production systems.
- Comfort using measuring devices such as tape measures and gauges.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand and respond to job schedules; adaptable, self‑motivated, and responsive in a fast‑paced setting.
- Willingness to work any shift as required to support business needs.
