About the Role
Ohel is seeking a friendly, responsible, and self-motivated Human Resources Assistant to join our team. You will play a key role in overseeing staff onboarding, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for every new hire. Beyond onboarding, you will support general HR functions and provide essential administrative assistance to the HR department.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate a welcoming onboarding process, ensuring all documentation is accurate, compliant, and completed prior to start dates.
Schedule appointments for document review and coordinate fingerprinting and background clearances.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within our HRIS and physical personnel files.
Provide general daily administrative assistance to the HR team as needed.
Qualifications
Skills: Exceptional organizational and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable navigating Microsoft Office and a proven ability to learn new software programs.
Professionalism: Ability to work with others with patience, professionalism, and to multitask.
Experience: Prior HR experience is preferred, and we are willing to train the right candidate.
This full-time position is based in Brooklyn and offers a flexible schedule with two evenings (until 6:30 pm) per week required. Position includes a competitive benefits package that includes a 403B retirement plan with employee contribution, sick and vacation paid time off (PTO) and for full-time employees, health insurance.
