We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist with a strong recruiting focus to support our Employee Owned organization. This role serves as the primary point of contact for recruiting and onboarding activities while also providing support across a variety of HR functions, including compliance, employee records, reporting, payroll support, and employee relations. The ideal candidate is organized, people-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts, including candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating the hiring process.
  • Manage recruitment activities through the applicant tracking system and develop relationships with staffing agencies, colleges, and job boards.
  • Coordinate pre-employment screening activities, including background checks, references, and driving record reviews.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and facilitate onboarding to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Maintain employee personnel records and support HR compliance requirements, including employment verification requests.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop and maintain accurate job descriptions.
  • Support payroll, benefits, and other HR initiatives as needed.
  • Occasionally travel to company locations and assist with operational needs, including supply pick-ups, lunch/event coordination, and other errands that support employees and business operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience required; recruiting experience is strongly preferred.
  • Payroll experience is a plus.
  • Transportation or logistics industry experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
