To independently manage human resources services to employees within a large, complex division(s), department(s), college, or school. May work with other UAB-affiliated HR entities. May supervise, mentor, and/or assign tasks to lower level HR support staff. To serve as the liaison to the Office of Human Resources and/or the Dean''s office for all academic and non-academic human resources related matters. To interpret, implement, and ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and programs. May plan, strategize, and advise faculty, staff, fellows, residents, post-docs, and international personnel in key areas such as recruitment, hiring, compensation, termination, etc. To serve as a key team member in assisting with the development and implementation of departmental, college, and/or school-wide HR policies and practices within the guidelines provided by the institution in an effort to strategically advance institutional missions. Serves as a resource/advisor to organization leadership.

The role advises faculty, staff, research fellows, post-docs, and international personnel on HR matters; ensures compliance with HR policies and procedures; and maintains accurate documentation in required systems. This position coordinates training initiatives, monitors accreditation and regulatory requirements, and supports ethical HR governance. Serves as an HR resource to leadership, promoting a collaborative, equitable, and compliant work environment aligned with the School of Nursing mission.
