HV Integration & Commodity Engineer

Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for HV Integration and Commodity Engineer to be based at our customers office in Gaydon.

Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.

Role Summary

Integrates & release electrified powertrain functions across ECU, subsystem, rig, and vehicle environments, confirming system behaviour and milestone readiness.

Dimension of Function

• HV battery, BMS, HVJB, OBC, DC-DC, charging, power electronics, or assigned Energy Platform commodities.
• Supplier technical management, maturity assessment, interfaces, DVP, issues, changes, and release evidence.
• Alignment with architecture, software, diagnostics, calibration, manufacturing, service, and vehicle milestones.
• Integration & Release of BMS, HV battery, inverter, EDU, OBC, DC-DC, HVJB, VSC, PCM, TCM, thermal systems, and vehicle networks.
• Feature and interface verification covering torque, energy, charging, diagnostics, power modes, and degraded operation.
• Evidence-led diagnosis across software, hardware, calibration, network, electrical, and system boundaries.

Area of Responsibility

• Analyse requirements, architecture, interfaces, signal databases, diagnostics, and software release content to define integration activities.
• Maintain integration plans, test scenarios, interface checklists, configuration baselines, and traceability.
• Execute or support bench, HiL, PiL, lab-car, rig, and vehicle integration testing and assess logs.
• Triage defects, identify the responsible domain, coordinate corrective action, and verify closure.
• Confirm network availability, signal timing, diagnostics, ECU states, variant coding, calibration compatibility, and dependencies.
• Support commissioning, FIS, engineering fleet, build, and launch activities.

Knowledge / Experience

• Strong understanding of EV/HEV architecture, powertrain controls, HV components, networks, diagnostics, and validation methods.
• Hands-on CANoe, CANape/INCA, diagnostic services, log analysis, test execution, and fault reproduction.
• Experience in requirements traceability, interface control, configuration management, and defect tracking.
• Tools/ Platforms: DOORS / DOORS Next; Polarion; Jama; Enterprise Architect; Cameo / MagicDraw; MATLAB / Simulink; CANoe; CANape / INCA; Jira / Azure DevOps.
• Standards/ Processes: ASPICE; ISO 26262; ISO 21434; AUTOSAR awareness; Automotive V-Model; Systems Engineering Lifecycle; configuration and change management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automotive, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience in an OEM, Tier-1, or engineering services environment supporting EV, HEV, PHEV, or high-voltage powertrain programmes.
• Strong technical communication, structured problem solving, cross-functional coordination, and engineering documentation capability.
