Bring your residential HVAC estimating leadership to a growing, publicly held construction organization with deep roots and long-term opportunity in New Port Richey, FL. In this HVAC Estimating Department Head role, you’ll lead the estimating function for residential new construction, strengthen the process that connects load design to final bids, and help scale a high-performing team.
Qualifications and responsibilities for thisHVAC Estimating Department Head position include:
- 5+ years of HVAC estimating experience with leadership experience in residential/production homebuilding environments
- Lead, mentor, and develop the residential HVAC estimating team; take charge of departmental management (4 estimators plus 9 others)
- Own the end-to-end estimating process: load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork design and takeoff, labor/material pricing, and final bid assembly
- Perform and oversee residential load calculations and system design in Wrightsoft (Manual J/D/S), ensuring proper equipment sizing and duct design
- Maintain and improve estimating templates, equipment libraries, assemblies, and pricing data used across the department
- Review and approve estimates and load designs prepared by team members; serve as the final quality check before bids are released
- Develop and track department KPIs (bid volume, win rate, estimate accuracy vs. actuals) and report to leadership
- Collaborate with sales/business development and builder accounts on bid strategy, plan options, and value engineering
Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year, higher for strong candidates, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: MDV, 401k, PTO (1 week; negotiable), and bonus opportunity (TBD).
