    Skip to content Admissions Menu Job Details Job Title: HVAC & General Maintenance Technician Department: Physical Plant Maintenance Reports To: Director of Physical Plant Job Type: This is a full time, non exempt position. General Description: Detail-oriented HVAC technician to install, maintain and repair HVAC systems. The HVAC technician will be skilled in cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems. Assist with general maintenance duties across campus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ø Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment. Ø Identifying maintenance risks on equipment. Ø Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems. Ø Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services. Ø Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently. Ø Providing technical direction and on-the-job training. Ø Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions. Ø Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers'' requirements. Ø Assisting with customers'' queries. Ø Completes repairs in accordance to work orders and/or priorities. Ø Daily and seasonal duties relating to all aspects of general maintenance. Ø Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements: Ø EPA Section 608 Certification or North American Technician Excellence certification or similar certification preferred Ø Varied work experience preferably in general maintenance and/or construction. Ø Any combination of education training or experience that provides required knowledge, skills and abilities. Ø Ability to operate various hand tools, power tools and machinery. Ø Ability to repair equipment. Ø Ability to communicate effectively orally. Typical Physical Demands: Ø Ability to climb several flights of stairs several times each day. Ø Ability to lift, push or pull up to 100 pounds. Ø Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, bend, walk or stand for long periods. Ø Ability to be subjected to chemical, mechanical or electrical hazards. Ø Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges. Ø Ability to be subjected to motor or machine noise. Ø Ability to wear protective clothing or work irregular hours. Ø Ability to be exposed to dusts, fumes and odoriferous working conditions. Ø Ability to use a computer. Ø Effective mobility skills required to move about freely and quickly in office and on campus. Ø Holds a valid Missouri drivers license. Ø Able to drive any type of vehicle without restrictions, and able to drive any type of machinery as needed. Work Schedule: This is a 12-month non-exempt position requiring 40 hours per week with on-call responsibilities and occasional weekend, holiday and evening work as needed.
