Our client, a national leader in commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC, is hiring an HVAC/R Start-up Technician in Virginia Beach, VA.

What You'll Do

• Start up new supermarket parallel rack and individual refrigeration systems

• Evacuate parallel racks after verifying pressure tests

• Wire and program EMS systems (CPC, Novar, Danfoss)

• Lead small projects like case and condenser changeouts

• Support energy optimization work: retro-commissioning, EMS and leak detection upgrades, gas conversions

• Help branches with problem stores and train junior techs and foremen

What You Bring

• High school diploma/GED plus trade school coursework

• 5+ years of commercial refrigeration, especially parallel racks (CO2 a plus)

• 3+ years of supermarket EMS experience; EMS certification preferred

• EPA Type I and II certification

• Journeyman-level installation skills (refrigeration, electrical, plumbing)

• Able to read blueprints and troubleshoot supermarket refrigeration

• Valid driver's license and good driving record

• Open to travel, overnights, and overtime
