Purpose of the RoleThe Service Technician / Commissioning Agent is responsible for testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and verifying the performance of building systems to ensure they operate according to design specifications, project requirements, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Review construction documents, submittals, sequences of operation, and equipment specifications. Draft commissioning plans from contract documents for the Commissioning Group. Submit internal RFIs to document questions or concerns over Sequences of Operations. Develop and manage a schedule of equipment Startup and Commissioning activities in collaboration with the Construction Project Manager to ensure activities impacting the Startup and Commissioning group personnel on any given project. Clearly identify dates when power and controls are required to meet OPS goals. Ensure all equipment installed by Creature on assigned projects is started up and commissioned in accordance with project requirements and company objectives. Execute functional performance testing to verify systems operate as intended. Perform regular job site walks with Project Managers and Technicians to review installation quality and provide feedback to Foremen and Construction Project Managers. Perform preventive maintenance and warranty calls as required. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company procedures, and industry standards. Communicate job status with the project management team on a daily basis and report any issues that may impede job progress or schedule. Assist the project management team with communicating technical detail to vendors or factory representatives as needed to repair manufacturers defects in equipment. Assist Test and Balance and manufacturers representatives in resolving issues that impact the performance of the systems within our responsibility or scope of work. Manage project Action Items and ensure timely completion by assigned parties. Coordinate resources with Construction project Managers to address issues. Organize, assemble, and issue Final Startup and Commissioning reports to all appropriate parties in a timely manner.

QualificationsMust-Have

Minimum 5 years mechanical HVAC equipment startup experience Experience with HVAC, electrical, controls, mechanical systems, or building automation systems. EPA Certification Valid drivers license; must be able/available to travel 50% or more of the time Pre-employment drug screen and background check required

Preferred

Experience in the construction industry, preferably with a mechanical contractor, TAB contractor, or DDC controls contractor Experience commissioning new construction and existing construction projects Working knowledge of and experience with DDC Controls and Test and Balance process. Experience in commercial, healthcare, industrial, or mission-critical facilities. Experience with Daikin Equipment.
