The HVAC Technician is responsible for the physical and mechanical maintenance of
the district's buildings. He/she is responsible for implementing a preventative
maintenance program.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the proper operation and repair of HVAC equipment to ensure
proper classroom and building temperatures. This will involve repairs to
pneumatic controls as well as DDC systems.
Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all boilers and the internal
cleaning of boilers.
responsible for checking on all safety devices and for checking the safety
conditions of the boiler before firing.
repair steam and water lines, repair or replace gaskets, controls, valves, and
gauges.
repair or replace thermostats, air lines, and repair or replace motor and air
compressors.
repair or replace vacuum pumps, heating and steam equipment, relief valves,
safety valves, vents, and heating coils.
Responsible for managing the district's HVAC building automation system and
scheduling heat/air conditioning for all events as needed.
Make repairs to refrigeration and heating equipment for kitchens as needed.
Responsible for and acting as main point of contact for Inspections, Licensing,
and CSD-1s.
Responsible for making sure all needed licenses are maintained for both self
and other HVAC team members.
Responsible for being familiar with and keeping up to date with HVAC regulatory
requirements.
Acting as liaison for the district on HVAC-related construction projects
Responsible for making recommendations and schedules for district HVAC
equipment replacement.
Responsible for the supervision of assigned helpers and the work performed by
them, and must be able to read job-related blueprints and shop drawings.
Responsible for assisting with electrical and plumbing assignments as needed
Responsible for all facility maintenance as directed by Maintenance and
Operations management

Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of boiler systems.
Proficiency with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment for working effectively with district
staff.
Ability to work independently and maintain productivity.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred
Three (3) years of experience in school district maintenance is preferred.
Mechanical Contractor's License or Mechanical Journeyman License preferred.
Universal Certification (Type I, II & III) preferred.
