    Contract Details (Contract roles only):
    • Position Type: Contract (Potential Convert to Perm)
    • Contract Duration: 3 Months
    • Start: As Soon As Possible
    • Pay Rate: $43 - $47/hr

    Job Summary:

    The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining and servicing commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems across a designated territory of Walgreens locations. This role requires strong hands-on experience with refrigerant systems, walk-in coolers, and freezers, along with the ability to troubleshoot independently.
    The technician will work autonomously, launching daily from home within a 20–30 mile radius of Hartford, CT. A company vehicle will be provided.

    Work Environment & Territory:

    • Servicing Walgreens retail locations.
    • Daily dispatch from home.
    • Approximately 20–30 mile service radius around Hartford, CT.
    • Work vehicle provided.
    • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with voluntary overtime and on-call opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Install, repair, adjust, and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems for HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
    • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure compliance with codes and safety regulations.
    • Troubleshoot refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers and freezers.
    • Diagnose equipment failures and determine corrective action.
    • Plan daily service routes based on assigned calls.
    • Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance for commercial HVAC systems.
    • Follow defined procedures to complete work assignments under general supervision.

    Required Experience:

    • 3+ years of refrigeration experience preferred (open to varying experience levels).
    • Experience troubleshooting and repairing refrigerant systems independently.
    • Experience servicing walk-in coolers and freezers.
    • High School Diploma or GED required.

    Nice-to-Have Experience:

    • Electrical skills.
    • Plumbing skills.

    Required Skills:

    • Excellent refrigeration system troubleshooting skills.
    • Strong problem-solving ability and ability to work independently.
    • Great time management and organizational skills.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Tablet/iPad proficiency.
    • Experience using mobile service platforms and email systems.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

    Licenses & Certifications:

    • Universal EPA License (required).
    • Valid Driver’s License (required).

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stoop, stand, walk, and climb stairs/ladders.
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (50 lbs. or more).
