HVAC Technician - Ladson, SC
Location: 8501 Palmetto Commerce Pkwy, Ladson, SC 29456
Compensation: $28.00-$30.00/hr (W2)
Shift: 2-2-3 Rotating 12-hour shifts (Month on days, month on nights)
Type: 6 months Temp-to-Hire
About the Role
Join a dynamic facility operations and maintenance team as an Industrial HVAC/R Technician. Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide range of HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, rooftop AHUs, split systems, pumps, chillers, coolers, freezers, compressors, and related systems
- Utilize building automation systems and CMMS to monitor, track, and document equipment status and maintenance activities
- Provide expert feedback on work orders, hot/cold calls, and ensure code and regulation compliance
- Safely handle 3-phase power (up to 480V), follow lockout/tagout and PPE procedures
- Mentor and assist other technicians on shift as needed
- Operate diagnostic tools, hand tools, and laptops for troubleshooting and repairs
- Support general maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0-3 years of experience as an HVAC maintenance technician in an industrial environment or equivalent training
- EPA Universal certification
- Ability to work at heights (aerial/scissor lifts up to 30'+)
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work on ladders/stairs, and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and pass pre-employment substance abuse screening
Preferred Skills
- Associate's degree or tech diploma in industrial electrical, mechanical, or HVAC
- Experience with 480V 3-phase power, VFD troubleshooting, and sheet metal work
- Preventive/corrective maintenance on industrial systems
- Reading prints and schematics
- Restaurant refrigeration systems and facility maintenance
- Cooling tower maintenance (Reymsa, Cyrco, Marley)
