HVAC Technician

S.I. Goldman Company, Inc., a Comfort Systems USA company, is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join our team.

Our HVAC Technicians perform equipment start-up, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on a broad range of HVAC equipment. Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

What You'll Do

As an HVAC Technician, you will:

• Perform start-up of HVAC systems and equipment in accordance with specifications, codes, and safety requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections to help ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC system issues.
• Work with compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, pumps, and other HVAC components.
• Test and calibrate HVAC systems to verify proper operation.
• Troubleshoot electrical and refrigeration components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, basic wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Work with 24V controls and BMS/BAS systems.
• Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and energy-efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers when parts or equipment are needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance, repairs, and service performed.
• Work collaboratively with customers, vendors, and other members of the S.I. Goldman team.
• Perform work in accordance with applicable codes, industry standards, and company safety requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant HVAC experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC technical or vocational training preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, including electrical and refrigeration components.
• General knowledge of industrial chiller plants, electric motors, and pumps.
• General knowledge of 24V controls and BMS/BAS systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles, including AC power, current, single-phase and three-phase circuits, and series and parallel circuits.
• Ability to use a multimeter to measure voltage, current, and resistance.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve HVAC problems efficiently.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Experience safely operating equipment such as scissor lifts, forklifts, and lulls.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to take initiative while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• OSHA 10-Hour training.
• EPA 608 Type II or Universal Certification preferred.

Work Environment & Travel

This position works primarily in commercial and industrial environments and requires travel to various jobsites and S.I. Goldman locations within our scope of work.

The position may require working outdoors in varying weather conditions, working at heights and in confined spaces, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Overtime may be required based on project and customer needs.
