Position Overview & Career Path: SLG is seeking a motivated, growth-oriented Associate Attorney to join our team, with the flexibility to be based out of either our Cleveland, Ohio office or our upcoming Northern Kentucky location.
This position is well-suited for a newer attorney looking to build practical, foundational litigation skills in creditors' rights and default practice.
Initially, your work will focus heavily on discovery, routine motion practice, legal research, and attending routine court hearings under the guidance and mentorship of a senior attorney. As you become familiar with firm systems, statutory frameworks, and client protocols, your caseload and responsibilities will steadily expand to include contested matters, practical litigation experience, and evidentiary hearings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage an active, individual caseload under the supervision and mentorship of a senior attorney.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses.
• Appear on behalf of financial institutions in state and federal courts, including travel to outlying county courts as required.
• Coordinate with firm support staff and court personnel to ensure files move forward efficiently.
• Track deadlines and fulfill client reporting requirements in a timely, organized manner.
Qualifications
Required:
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Ohio.
• Strong written, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Good organizational habits and the ability to manage a steady workflow efficiently.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid schedule, balancing in-office time with remote productivity.
Preferred:
• Prior exposure to civil litigation, foreclosure, collections, or bankruptcy (via practice, judicial clerkships, or relevant clinic/internship experience).
• Admission to federal district court.
• Licensure in additional jurisdictions—particularly Kentucky and/or Indiana—is an asset, though not required.

• Hybrid Schedule: This role offers a hybrid work structure with a balance of in-office and remote days, accommodating court calendars and client confidentiality requirements.
• Pre-Employment Screening: Consideration for employment with Sandhu Law Group LLC is conditional upon passing a pre-employment background check, confirmation of eligibility to work in the United States, and good standing with the bar.
