Job Description

Shape steel. Build skills. Get paid to learn.

Picture your first week on the floor in Harmarville: you’re suited up, shadowing a seasoned pro, hands on the controls of a hydraulic steel shear. You’re moving sheet steel with an overhead crane and magnet, rolling a forklift to stage material, and learning the rhythm of a production shop that values safety, precision, and hustle. No steel or shear experience? No problem. We train from day one, and this is a direct-hire role with a clear path to earn more as you go.

Where you’ll work

A steel fabrication and processing facility in Harmarville focused on cutting and preparing sheet and strip products for customers across industries. It’s hands-on, physical, and mechanical work—perfect for someone who likes being on their feet and making things happen.

How your week flows

  • 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday 4:00 AM–2:30 PM (30-minute lunch); Friday 4:00 AM–12:00 PM, paid at time and a half, no lunch — $18.50/hour
  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday 2:30 PM–1:00 AM (30-minute lunch); Friday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, paid at time and a half, no lunch — $19.50/hour
  • On 2nd shift, when you work the Friday 8 AM shift, your Thursday shift ends at 11:00 PM instead of 1:00 AM
  • Some Fridays off entirely on either shift
  • No weekends—Saturday and Sunday are yours
  • Overtime available to boost your paycheck
  • $0.50/hour increase after a 60–90 day probation, plus annual raises and bonuses (with potential for more frequent bonuses down the line)

Both shifts follow a steady Monday–Thursday cadence with a shorter, different Friday—easy to plan your life around once you’re in the groove.

What you’ll do

  • Set up and operate a hydraulic steel shear to cut sheet and strip
  • Stage and move steel sheets by hand, overhead crane, or magnet
  • Drive a forklift to move raw and finished goods
  • Verify quality using precision measuring tools and visual inspection
  • Package finished orders with air-powered banding tools
  • Record production, print tags, and follow work orders using basic computer/calculator skills

What makes you a fit

  • No experience required—bring the right attitude and the willingness to learn
  • Reliable attendance and a commitment to a predictable, long-term schedule
  • Comfortable with physical, fast-paced work on your feet all shift
  • Background in warehouse or manufacturing is a plus, not a must
  • Solid math, reading, and measuring ability
  • Works well independently with minimal supervision and stays team-oriented

Benefits that start when you do

  • Start upon hire: Health, dental, and vision insurance; PTO accrual; 401(k) retirement plan
  • Additional benefits: 401(k) matching; dental insurance; health insurance; paid time off; vision insurance
