A leading heavy equipment manufacturer is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Systems Engineer to design, develop, and validate advanced hydraulic systems for large-scale mining loaders. About the Role

The Hydraulic Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing hydraulic circuits, selecting system components, developing routing and documentation, and supporting testing and validation. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in mobile hydraulic design, component selection, system troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Engineering

• Design hydraulic circuits, select components, and develop system routing, bills of materials (BOMs), and test documentation.

• Identify opportunities to improve hydraulic system performance and energy efficiency, particularly for hybrid and electrically driven machines.

Testing, Validation & Collaboration

• Troubleshoot field and prototype issues to improve system reliability and performance.

• Support FMEA, benchmarking, and root-cause analysis activities.

• Coordinate supplier PPAP activities and support validation of hydraulic components and systems.

Quality, Safety & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve design issues and support product launches and continuous improvement.

• Maintain clear engineering documentation and follow applicable product safety, quality, and company standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 4+ years of experience in mobile hydraulic circuit design and component selection.

• Working knowledge of hydraulic schematics, system routing, energy efficiency, FMEA, supplier quality, and prototype troubleshooting.

• Ability to manage priorities, communicate technical findings, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with off-highway construction or mining equipment.

• Exposure to hybrid or electric equipment platforms.

• Experience working with international engineering or supplier teams.

• Experience with prototype validation, root-cause analysis, and structured design reviews.

Work Environment

This is primarily an office-based engineering role involving computer-aided design, analysis, and engineering reviews, with occasional visits to prototype, testing, and manufacturing environments. These visits may involve standing, walking, PPE, and exposure to noise, moving equipment, or varying temperatures.

Travel: Occasional travel, up to 25%.
