Build and Prove What Flies

At Woodward in Santa Clarita, CA, your day starts with a traveler and a cart of precision parts. By mid-morning, you’ve aligned components to tight tolerances, torqued fasteners per spec, and brought a hydro-mechanical assembly to life. After lunch, you’re at the bench running pressure and functional tests, stepping through acceptance test procedures (ATPs) line by line. You identify a subtle pressure drop, troubleshoot the root cause, correct it, and document everything—because safety, reliability, and quality are the standard here.

Contract up to December 2027 (1.3 years) with steady work in a leading aerospace manufacturing environment.

What you’ll do

• Assemble hydro-mechanical components and equipment exactly to engineering specifications.
• Perform pressure testing and functional testing on hydraulic assemblies.
• Follow ATPs to verify performance and quality before sign-off.
• Troubleshoot assembly and test issues methodically and document resolutions.
• Inspect components and completed builds for accuracy, reliability, and spec compliance.

What you bring

• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical assembly and testing experience.
• Background assembling and testing mechanical or hydraulic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and acceptance test procedures.
• Demonstrated skill with pressure and functional testing.
• Aerospace hydraulics exposure is highly desirable, including work with red oil and Skydrol (also seen as skydrol/skydroil/redoil).
• Automotive or other relevant technical experience—especially with hydraulics, assembly, or test—is welcomed.

Pay, schedule, and training

• Pay: $26.88–$41.76 per hour, DOE/skill.
• Overtime: Regular opportunities at time and a half.
• Shift differentials: +$1.50/hr (second shift) or +$1.75/hr (third shift).
• Schedules:
  • Second shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30 p.m.–midnight
  • Third shift: Sunday–Thursday, 11 p.m.–7 a.m.
• Initial training: Three weeks on first shift, Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
