Job Description

At MITRE, your passion fuels work that impacts our nation and improves lives. This is where your skills strengthen national security, cybersecurity, health, transportation, and citizen services. We're a nonprofit engineering, applied research, and advanced technology organization working in the public interest. With objectivity and integrity at our core, we lead federally funded research and development centers for U.S. government agencies - collaborating with industry and academia to deliver integrated, high-impact solutions that advance our nation's health, security, and prosperity. Our people tackle the toughest technical challenges, supported by competitive benefits, meaningful career development, and a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence. Choose MITRE for a career with purpose - and help shape the future.

The Strategic Technology & Economic Foresight Department (N921) within MITRE's National Intelligence Division delivers advanced analytic and technical capabilities in direct support of the Intelligence Community (IC). N921 integrates emerging technology expertise, economic security analysis, mission engineering, and prototype development to help the sponsor anticipate strategic disruption, evaluate enterprise risk, and modernize Intelligence Community capabilities.

Our work spans secure prototype development, mission-focused application engineering, technology evaluation, and cross-IC integration. We operate at the intersection of policy, technology, and operations, enabling national-level decision-makers to understand emerging threats and deploy scalable, secure, and mission-aligned solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

MITRE is seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to support high-priority IC initiatives requiring secure, scalable, and mission-driven application development.

The selected candidate will serve as a technical subject matter expert responsible for designing, developing, and deploying full stack applications within highly sensitive Intelligence Community environments. • Establish and enforce coding standards, architecture patterns, and security best practices.

  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical rigor and collaborative problem solving.

  • Present architectural approaches, technical tradeoffs, and recommendations to senior sponsor leadership and cross-IC stakeholders.

  • Support transition planning and long-term sustainment strategies in coordination with government and commercial partners.
