ICP GROUP: Operations Consultant

Job Description:

Serve as an Operations Consultant to lead installing basic components of a Quality system to enable reliable and consistent production of the products from Seaford. Items are detailed in a document coauthored between R&D (Prabani, Dan Nelson) and Ops (Todd) the week of April 9. This will reduce the errors in batch making and final product production related to quality of raw materials and batching processes. Implementation will provide a road map for implementation at other sites. Will leverage batching protocols and systems currently in place in the Choice plants. Will coordinate with improvement road map being developed for Tampa Sun.

Excerpt from scope document:

• MOC: Incoming Asphalt Quality Check SOP - Write SOP for raw material verification (True Grade, PG, COA)
• MOC: Batch Making SOP - Develop a prioritized list of 1 SOPs to create. Create SOPs for tier 1 SOPs. Develop methodologly for iPad entries, auto-sync to Share Drive. Secure iPad, create templates, create protocol for completion, validation.
• Analysis of existing process batching work flows - Where do we have existing flow meters, weigh cells, level transmitters? Where do have PLCs to either calculate/and or log added components in each step? Process to validate component adds are done correctly; second set of eyes sign off.
• Visual Inspection SOP - Visual check standardization (color, lumps)
• Solids & Viscosity SOP - Already exist, ensure calibration
• Functional Testing SOP - Improve sampling & equipment
• Packaging Integrity SOP - Define package inspection process
• Hight-Risk Batch SOP - SOP for R&D QC checks of critical SKUs

Operations basics components and systems:

• Install daily morning production meetings to organize the production, maintenance and shipping priorities for the day
• Create and install leading KPIs for visual tracking of daily production against goals for driveway sealer and cement work streams.
• Develop a mechanism for daily communication outside the site of production completed, gaps identified and gap closure plans with clear accountability; who is doing what by when
• Evaluate Upkeep software for use in maintenance tracking of Preventative Maintenance (leverage from Choice plants) for weigh cells and flow meters in the plant. If suitable, install and implement.
