A bit about us:
Our client is a growing immigration law firm serving clients across the central United States, with a client base that spans family based immigration, business immigration, and removal defense matters. The firm has built a reputation in its region for taking on complex cases that other practices turn away, and for walking clients through an often confusing legal process with a steady, personal touch. The team is small enough that every attorney knows their clients by name, yet experienced enough to handle matters ranging from routine visa petitions to contested hearings before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to practice immigration law inside a firm where your caseload actually reflects the full breadth of the practice area rather than one narrow slice of it. Attorneys here get hands on experience across visa categories, adjustment of status filings, naturalization, and court appearances, which makes this a strong fit for someone who wants to keep building a well rounded skill set rather than specializing too early. The culture leans collaborative rather than siloed: attorneys consult each other on strategy, and senior staff are genuinely invested in mentoring newer lawyers. Clients frequently come from underserved or non English speaking communities, so this role carries real meaning for attorneys who want their work to matter beyond the billable hour. The firm also offers flexibility that larger institutions often can't match, along with a clear path to taking on more ownership as you prove yourself.
Job Details
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing (state to be confirmed with the hiring team)
Minimum of two years of hands on immigration law experience, ideally spanning both petition based filings and litigation or hearing experience
Working knowledge of USCIS procedures, EOIR practice, and BIA appeals
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal processes in plain language to clients under stress
Comfort managing a high volume caseload independently while still collaborating closely with a small team
Fluency in a second language is a strong plus given the client population served
Genuine interest in immigrant communities and a client first approach to practicing law
