OVERVIEW
The Internal Affairs Specialist will assist the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) Internal Affairs
Director and Investigator with enforcing the agency's program for detecting and deterring employee
misconduct, policy violations, fraud, waste, and abuse of state resources and assets, and other
improprieties within the agency. The responsibilities of this position will include, but may not be
limited to:
Preparing and submitting Outlook data log requests through the Indiana Office of
Technology's Archer portal
Preparing and submitting case management system data log requests
Analyzing and converting data log reports into clear, sequential narrative summaries
Scheduling investigation-related interviews
Assisting with note-taking during interviews
Assisting with maintaining the Internal Affairs Referral investigation portal and electronic
investigation file system
Compiling evidentiary materials for investigations
Proofreading and editing investigation report documents
Assisting other Ethics and Compliance Division department as needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills; solid organizational skills; exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills; clear understanding of the concepts of ethics, integrity, and confidentiality; ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, follow directions, and exercise sound judgment in decision making
Performance success is measured against the goal of maximizing Departmental efficiency and quality.
Work is reviewed for overall accomplishment of objectives and conformance with Internal Affairs
Department procedures. Problems will be discussed with the Internal Affairs Director, Internal Affairs
Investigator, and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer.
