Job Description

Industrial Control Panel Wiring Technician

Picture your day starting at 7:00 AM with a fresh set of electrical schematics. You lay out components inside an enclosure, route clean wire paths, and methodically perform point-to-point, I/O, and power wiring. By mid-morning, you’re crimping, terminating, and labeling with precision—selecting the right cables, connectors, and terminations to match the drawings. After lunch, you verify continuity, double-check the craftsmanship of your panel, and document quality checks. If needed, you lend a hand troubleshooting an existing panel, then wrap up by restoring your bench to a clean, organized, and safe condition.

IMPORTANT: All applicants will be required to complete a hands-on wiring exam during the interview process.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform point-to-point wiring, I/O wiring, and power wiring.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Identify electrical components and select appropriate wires, cables, connectors, and terminations.
  • Use hand tools and specialized equipment for electrical panel construction.
  • Inspect completed panels for wiring accuracy, quality, and workmanship.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of existing control panels as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Minimum of 2 years of control panel wiring or electrical assembly experience.
  • Proficiency in reading and following electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with point-to-point wiring, I/O wiring, and power wiring.

  • Ability to use tools associated with electrical panel construction.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, automated controls, and DCS systems preferred.
