    Job Description

    Industrial Electro-Mechanical Troubleshooting Technician

Imagine stepping onto a busy production floor where extrusion lines set the pace for the day. When a line stops, you’re the first call. You quickly assess the situation, trace faults through electrical and mechanical systems, and bring equipment back online—safely and fast. That’s the heartbeat of this hands-on role.

    What your day looks like

    • Respond rapidly to production and operator line calls across extrusion and production lines.
    • Diagnose and repair 24VDC–480VAC electrical systems—motors, variable-frequency drives, heaters, sensors, and related controls.
    • Tackle mechanical issues on the spot: pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, motors and gearboxes, and general production equipment.
    • Read, interpret, and work directly from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and machine drawings.
    • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to identify root causes of failures.
    • Complete repairs safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and keep product moving.
    • Fit in preventative maintenance (PM) and other maintenance tasks as needed.
    • Partner closely with production and operations teams to keep equipment and extrusion lines running smoothly.
    • Follow all safety procedures rigorously, including proper lockout/tagout practices.

    Focus of the role

This position operates in a heavy reactive maintenance environment. Your priority is troubleshooting and repair—restoring equipment service quickly and safely while minimizing production downtime.

    Systems you’ll frequently troubleshoot

    • Electrical systems and controls
    • Motors and variable-frequency drives
    • Heaters and temperature-related equipment
    • Sensors and field devices
    • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
    • Mechanical components and general production equipment

Preventative maintenance and scheduled work are part of the job, but the core mission is clear: rapidly diagnose issues, execute effective repairs, and keep extrusion lines running.
