Industrial Fabrication Operator — Welding & Robotics Support

Join a high-velocity fabrication shop where steel pipe becomes finished product through teamwork, accuracy, and safe execution. If you enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and learning to run different machines, this role is for you.

Your impact

• Operate plasma cutting machines, cold saws, threading and grooving machines, grinders, and semi-automatic fabrication equipment.
• Cut, groove, thread, grind, and prep steel pipe to exact specifications.
• Assist with welding support, outlet placement, and automated fabrication processes/robotics.
• Read work orders, production paperwork, and measurements to hit quality targets.
• Conduct visual checks on fabricated materials, welds, and finished goods for accuracy and defects.
• Perform grinding, deburring, finishing, and general shop support.
• Load, unload, stage, and move raw materials and finished product using forklifts, pallet jacks, CombiLift equipment, and overhead cranes.
• Bundle, band, label, and prepare orders for shipment.
• Tackle minor equipment issues; escalate equipment or quality concerns to leadership.
• Keep the work area clean and organized while following PPE, SOPs, and lockout/tagout.
• Pitch in across fabrication, production, welding, machine operation, robotics, and shipping as needs shift.

What you bring

• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, machine operation, construction, mechanical trades, or general labor preferred.
• Exposure to steel fabrication, welding, robotics, or industrial production is a plus (not required).
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand tools, power tools, and production machinery.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Capability to read/follow work instructions, schedules, blueprints, or fabrication specs.
• Adaptability to changing workflows and priorities.
• Forklift/material handling experience preferred.
• Eagerness to learn fabrication processes, welding support, robotics, and machine operation through on-the-job training.

Physical realities

• Standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, and repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Regularly lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
• Working around moving machinery, forklifts, cranes, sparks, welding, and other fabrication equipment.
• Operating within an industrial environment with noise, dust, heat, sparks, and fumes.

• Plasma cutting equipment; cold and band saws

• Forklifts, pallet jacks, CombiLift equipment, and overhead cranes

Training, safety, and standards

• On-the-job training in fabrication equipment, welding support functions, robotics, production processes, quality, and safety procedures.
• Strict adherence to PPE, lockout/tagout, and documented SOPs.
• Commitment to quality: accurate measurements, correct specs, and thorough inspections.

Where you’ll pitch in

As operational needs evolve, you’ll support fabrication, production, machine operation, welding, robotics, shipping preparation, and other manufacturing functions as directed by Fabrication Leadership or Branch Operations Management.
