Build, fix, improve—own the systems that power our plant
At Powell, we design and manufacture engineered-to-order switchgear. From our Houston, TX, 77075 location, we’re seeking a senior-level technician to keep our facility dependable, safe, and ready for production.

Are you equally comfortable repairing a leak, swapping a ballast, and finishing drywall for an office refresh?
Your schedule
2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 2:00pm–10:30pm with overtime as needed.
What you’ll tackle
Routine facility maintenance across carpentry, electrical, and plumbing
Minor plumbing fixes and lighting repairs
Sheetrock patching, painting, and office make-ready work
Support and assist maintenance technicians and other plant teams
Execute inspections, troubleshoot issues, and perform safe, timely repairs
Assist with installing new equipment and coordinating external contractors
Track and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
Minimum qualifications
High school diploma or GED
4+ years’ experience in a facilities maintenance group
Technical know-how
Operate shop tools and equipment: sanders, drill press, forklift, and scissor lift
Perform new electrical installations for industrial equipment; troubleshoot and repair existing industrial electrical
Work safely and follow all industrial policies and procedures
Effective communicator with a basic command of English (written and verbal)
Self-directed and team-oriented; able to work alone or with others
Where you’ll work
Temperature-controlled warehouse and manufacturing plant
Outdoor tasks at times with exposure to hot and cold weather
Occasional travel (< 5%) to offsite facilities within Greater Houston
Physical capabilities
Maintain balance and agility while walking, standing, crouching, and using stairs
Frequent bending at waist and knees; repetitive reaching and hand/arm extension
Stand and walk for long durations, up to a full shift
Lift and move 60+ lbs. repeatedly throughout a workday
