Industrial Machine Operator and Mechanic
The Industrial Machine Operator & Mechanic is responsible for the end-to-end efficiency of production machinery. This dual-purpose role involves the safe operation of equipment to manufacturequality products and the mechanical expertise to perform setups, changeovers, and preventative maintenance. The goal is to maintain seamless production workflows while ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.

Activities and perspectives
Tackle, think along, take responsibility
- Operation & Production:
- Set up, operate, and monitor assigned production machinery according to standard operating procedures
- Execute equipment changeovers for different production runs (e.g., paper packaging products) to ensure minimal downtime
- Load raw materials and unload finished products efficiently
- Report order status and production data accurately via the company''s ERP system
- Meet production goals while maintaining strict quality and safety standards
- Maintenance & Technical Support:
- Use hand tools to perform accurate setups, adjustments, and minor mechanical repairs
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and develop practical solutions to maintain workflow and productivity
- Perform routine cleaning, adjustments, and basic preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime
- Adjust machine components and settings to optimize product quality and equipment performance
- Quality & Safety:
- Inspect products during and after production to ensure they meet all quality specifications
- Strictly adhere to all company safety rules, OSHA regulations, and lockout/tagout procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Report safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or quality deviations to supervision immediately
- Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve common production goals
- Contribute ideas and drive continuous improvement efforts to increase productivity, yield, engagement, and safety
Requirements
What you should bring with you
- Experience & Education:
- An Associate''s degree or comparable technical certification is a significant advantage
- Minimum 1 year of experience in machine operation, setup, mechanical maintenance, or a manufacturing environment
- Technical or vocational training in manufacturing or machine operation
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with proficiency in using hand tools
- Ability to read and follow complex written and verbal instructions
- Basic math and measurement skills
- A decisive problem-solver capable of assessing issues and implementing solutions quickly
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Willingness and ability to work shifts (morning/afternoon/night)
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift, handle, and move materials and tools weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions
- Visual acuity sufficient to inspect products and monitor equipment
