Industrial Multicraft Maintenance Technician (Electromechanical)

Nexus Employment Solutions Plus, Inc. is seeking a seasoned electromechanical maintenance professional to keep a high-volume manufacturing operation running safely and reliably. If you thrive on solving complex electrical and mechanical challenges overnight, this role is for you.

A night in the role

At 11:00 PM, you take the handoff from day shift and review the maintenance log. A conveyor is tripping a breaker; you trace the issue through a 3-phase circuit at 480V, validate with your meter, and correct a failing motor starter. Minutes later, production flags an abnormal vibration—your root cause analysis leads to a worn bearing and stretched chain on a drive assembly. By 3:00 AM, you’ve completed scheduled preventive work—inspecting VFD parameters, checking sensors, and tightening panel terminations—before responding to an unplanned pump failure. You lock out and tag out, pull the pump, swap seals, and return the line to service. As the sun comes up, you document parts used, repairs made, and share improvement ideas with production to reduce repeat failures.

What you'll own

• Electrical diagnostics: Troubleshoot, test, and repair low- and high-voltage distribution systems, including 3-phase circuits up to 450V–480V, motor starters, VFDs, electrical panels, sensors, and control systems.
• Mechanical maintenance: Diagnose, repair, and maintain production machinery, conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, and related components.
• Identify root causes of electro-mechanical failures to minimize downtime.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures prior to service, repair, or adjustments.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
• Use appropriate test equipment to validate circuits and components.
• Repair, replace, and install motors, controls, sensors, switches, electrical components, and mechanical parts.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, rebuilds, and upgrades.
• Respond quickly to emergency breakdowns with effective troubleshooting and repair.
• Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment issues accurately.
• Partner with production and maintenance teams to drive reliability and reduce downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; follow all electrical and LOTO safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Schedule and pay

• Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Pay: $30.00 per hour
• Full-time hours with overtime, weekend work, or alternate shifts as needed

What you bring

• At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Expertise in electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Hands-on work with 3-phase electrical systems up to 450V–480V.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for maintenance and repair.
• Background with motors, starters, VFDs, panels, sensors, and control systems.
• Proven knowledge and use of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Comfort with electrical test and diagnostic instruments.
• Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Solid troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Safe work practices around energized and mechanical equipment.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or different shifts as needed.
• Comfort in hot, cold, wet, noisy, and physically demanding manufacturing environments.
• Clear communication and strong organizational skills.
