Job Description

Industrial Power Systems Engineering Lead

At D-Riven Engineered Solutions, you’ll guide complex electrification work that keeps industrial facilities powered, safe, and scalable. Picture a typical day: you open with a safety briefing, lead a site walk to validate existing loads, review one-line diagrams with senior engineers, align on material lead times with operations, and coach field teams through a clean, code-compliant installation—closing the loop with an arc flash study and labels before handoff.

Impact You’ll Drive

  • Champion safety from kickoff to closeout, honoring D-Riven’s standards and every customer’s site rules.
  • Act as the technical authority for our Industrial Engineering – Electrification team.
  • Direct senior electrical engineers and electrical superintendents through site surveys, power distribution designs, and installation plans.
  • Assess existing industrial electrical infrastructure for capacity and loading; create accurate one-line drawings.
  • Serve as lead designer and approver on industrial power distribution systems.
  • Optimize solutions considering material utilization, procurement lead times, installation windows/downtime, and constructability.
  • Interpret and apply National Electrical Code and relevant building codes; deploy accepted industry best practices.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support estimating, quoting, and overall project planning.
  • Collaborate with operations and program managers to build resource-loaded schedules and detailed timelines ahead of launch.
  • Develop bill-of-materials and coordinate with purchasing teams.
  • Source components and vet alternates for technical compatibility under project constraints.
  • Oversee in-house electricians and subcontractors to execute against approved work plans.
  • Manage senior engineers and superintendents, guiding survey strategies and execution roadmaps.
  • Confirm lockout/tagout (LOTO) of all affected sources prior to work start.
  • Support field troubleshooting remotely and on-site to resolve electrical issues quickly.
  • Review and sign off on installations: Unistrut frames/hangers, cable tray, conduit, panels, disconnects, junction boxes, and motors.
  • Uphold 5S principles—ensure tidy work areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with controls/low-voltage specialists for seamless system integration.
  • Perform arc flash analyses and produce labels at project completion.
  • Contribute to additional site activities as requested by site leadership.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven industrial electrical engineering background with substantial field exposure.
  • Reliable personal vehicle appropriate for interstate travel.
  • Expertise reading, interpreting, and producing electrical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Fluency with Autodesk Electrical (AutoCAD Electrical) for engineering design.
  • Hands-on electrical aptitude and strong practical judgment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Confidence collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Sharp analytical thinking and structured problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated project leadership and people management.
  • Current knowledge of applicable codes and best practices.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, variable shifts, and additional hours when needed.

Education & Experience

  • BS in Electrical Engineering (or closely related discipline) required; advanced degree a plus.
  • 15+ years combined in electrical engineering, industrial electrical installation/maintenance, or related field.
  • Experience operating aerial lifts and other powered equipment.
