Role Overview
As an Industrial Reliability Mechanic supporting our metal cladding operations, you will keep production machinery and facility systems running safely and consistently. Your work reduces unplanned downtime, supports production and quality targets, and upholds rigorous plant safety standards.
A Day in the Life
You start by reviewing overnight work orders and maintenance schedules. A quick walk-through of the line leads you to inspect rolling, bonding, leveling, slitting, forming, and material-handling systems. When a line trips, you move fast—diagnosing issues with bearings, gearboxes, motors, belts, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics, or pumps—and coordinating with production and other maintenance teammates to get the equipment back online.
Between calls, you complete preventive and predictive tasks, read mechanical drawings and schematics to plan a minor modification, and use hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment to get work done safely. You might align a new assembly, assist with a commissioning checklist, or document parts used and follow-up needs in the plant’s maintenance system. Throughout the shift, you keep the shop organized, follow lockout/tagout, machine-guarding, hot-work, and confined-space procedures, and partner closely with electrical, controls, production, and engineering personnel.
Core Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment across rolling, bonding, leveling, slitting, forming, and material-handling systems.
