Schedule: Four days per week, Mostly daytime hours, usually around 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. A later shift (for example, 3:00–11:00 p.m.) comes up about once or twice a month, with occasional weekends.
Guaranteed Hours: 35 hours per week

Overview:
A warm, busy family in Columbia, SC is looking for a flexible, experienced full-time nanny to care for their newborn daughter (3 weeks old) and their toddler son. The toddler goes to school Monday through Friday, so most of the nanny's day will be spent caring for the infant. Mornings include getting the toddler up, dressed, fed, and ready for school, and some afternoons may include his after-school activities. The parents' work schedules vary, so the nanny's schedule will be shared four months in advance. Most shifts are during the day, but the right candidate is comfortable with an occasional evening or weekend shift. This family values attention to detail, reliability, and a caregiver who leaves the home as tidy as they found it. The household has one family dog.

Benefits: Two weeks paid vacation, two personal days, six paid holidays, guaranteed hours

Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, nurturing care for a newborn, including feeding, diapering, naps, and age-appropriate routines
  • Get the toddler up, dressed, fed breakfast, and ready for school each morning
  • Plan engaging outings and activities, such as zoo trips (family has a membership) and park visits
  • Prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children (for example, eggs and macaroni and cheese)
  • Support the toddler's after-school activities and sports as needed
  • Keep children's spaces tidy and put things back the way they were found (no housekeeping required)
  • Stay flexible for occasional evening or weekend shifts, scheduled in advance
  • Keep open, consistent communication with the parents about the children's day

Requirements:

  • Extensive professional nanny experience, including newborn/infant care
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Comfortable swimming and supervising children in and around water
  • COVID-19 vaccination (at least the initial dose), yearly flu vaccine, and Tdap
  • Comfortable with a family dog
  • Flexible and dependable, available for occasional evenings and weekends
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Long-term commitment
  • Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references

Upon submitting this form, you will be considered for any suitable positions, so there is no need to complete multiple applications.
