An infant teacher is responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for infants, focusing on their developmental needs through age-appropriate activities, close observation, and consistent routines, while also maintaining open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and well-being; key duties include feeding, changing diapers, implementing sensory play, fostering social interaction, and documenting developmental milestones within a classroom setting.

Responsibilities of an infant teacher:
  • Child Development: Deep understanding of infant development stages to plan age-appropriate activities that stimulate cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth. 
  • Classroom Management: Creating a safe and organized learning environment with clear feeding, sleeping, playtime, and transition routines. 
  • Observation and Assessment: Continuously observe infants to identify individual needs and developmental milestones and document progress through detailed records. 
  • Parent Communication: Maintaining open communication with parents through regular updates, conferences, and addressing any concerns about their child's development. 
  • Basic Care: Providing necessary care like feeding, changing diapers, dressing, and hygiene practices. 
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines for infant care, including proper handling and supervision. 
  • Team Collaboration: Working effectively with other staff members to ensure consistent care and communication across the classroom. 

Responsibilities 
  • Plan games and activities that are developmentally appropriate
  • Design a daily and weekly schedule
  • Provide basic care and caregiving activities
  • Evaluate children to ensure they are reaching developmental milestones
  • Communicate with parents and update them on their children’s activities
RequiredQualifications
  • Previous experience as a daycare teacher or childcare provider ( DCF 40 HOURS)
  • Strong understanding of child development
  • Patient, kind, and nurturing
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • First aid/CPR certified
  • Physical Ability: Ability to lift and hold infants, bend, kneel, and play on the floor. 
Compensation: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
