Description

Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated Infection Preventionist to support our infection prevention and control efforts. This role helps maintain infection tracking dashboards, assists with outbreak investigations, and supports education programs for clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and track infection prevention and control programs.
  • Assist in outbreak investigations, including interviews and documentation.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Help plan and deliver training and educational programs on infection control.
  • Maintain up-to-date infection case dashboards and reports.
  • Monitor and follow national and state infection prevention standards (e.g., CDC, NHSN).
  • Conduct site visits to assess compliance with infection prevention practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience in infection prevention, quality management, or related field.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) must be obtained within 24 months of hire.
  • One of the following education/experience combinations:
    • Master's in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, or related + 2 years healthcare experience (1 in infection control or similar).
    • Bachelor's in Nursing, Public Health, Microbiology, or related + 4 years healthcare experience (3 in infection control or similar).
    • RN License + 6 years healthcare experience (5 in infection control or similar).
    • No degree + 7 years healthcare experience (at least 5 in infection control or similar).

Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
  • Understanding of CDC, NHSN standards, and hospital infection surveillance.
  • Experience with healthcare compliance, patient safety, risk management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and trend reporting.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Additional Information:
  • Job Type: Full-time, Individual Contributor.
  • Travel: Not required.
  • Bonus: 7.5% annual based on performance.
