If your instinct on receiving a draft is to improve its typography, this isn't the role. If your instinct is to ask why step four exists, it is.You should be comfortable being the person who says "I don't think this diagram is right, because these two paths can't both be true."Required:5+ years designing information artifacts in a professional services, consulting, or government contextDemonstrated process modelingExperience building taxonomies, classification schemes, or information architectureSenior-level Visio proficiency (the federal default and a working requirement here)Executive-grade PowerPointStrong plain-language writing - these artifacts carry text, and you'll write itAbility to work onsite in Washington, DC occasionallyPreferredFederal acquisition, program management, or governance exposure - DHS especiallyCurrent or recent DHS suitability determinationFigma, Illustrator, or equivalent for higher-fidelity workFacilitation experience with senior stakeholdersFamiliarity with IT investment management or capital planningHow we'll evaluate:All finalists will be asked to complete a short exercise: after a brief conversation about a process you don't already know, you'll produce a diagram of it.
