The Information Security Engineer II supports the operation and maintenance of enterprise information security solutions, with a primary focus on an LLM-based code vulnerability detection and reporting platform. This role monitors system health, executes operational procedures, troubleshoots issues, applies approved changes, and supports ongoing platform maintenance.
The engineer works within established architectures and procedures, contributing to assigned engineering and feature work under the guidance of Lead and Principal Engineers. This role participates in a rotating 24/7 operational support schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and operate the LLM-based code vulnerability detection platform, including scanner health, job execution, model errors, and resource consumption.
Monitor and troubleshoot scanning pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, and AWS ECS, resolving failed jobs, backlogs, and environment issues.
Execute documented runbooks and escalate issues according to established procedures.
Perform structured shift handoffs and document open issues, changes, and escalations.
Apply approved patches, dependency updates, and configuration changes through established change management processes.
Monitor Splunk dashboards and alerts and identify recurring operational issues and performance trends.
Execute evaluation and regression testing on a defined schedule and report results or identified issues.
Implement assigned Story-level changes within an established architecture, including guided updates to Terraform and CI/CD configurations.
Maintain and improve operational procedures, runbooks, and support documentation.
Provide operational support for containerized and cloud-based environments.
Participate in a rotating 24/7 schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Maintain required security controls and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
1+ year of relevant engineering or technical operations experience, including information security, infrastructure, or software support.
Working knowledge of AWS fundamentals, including IAM, CloudWatch, and AWS Console/CLI.
Ability to troubleshoot CI/CD pipeline issues, preferably using Jenkins and GitHub.
Ability to read and make guided modifications to Terraform and Python or similar scripting languages.
Basic understanding of application security concepts and common software vulnerabilities.
Strong ability to follow documented procedures, troubleshoot issues, and escalate appropriately.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision during assigned shifts.
Willingness and availability to work a rotating 24/7 schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting a 24/7 operational environment, including runbook execution and shift handoffs.
Exposure to AWS Bedrock or other hosted LLM platforms.
Experience with AWS ECS or other container orchestration platforms.
Experience using Splunk for searches, dashboards, and operational monitoring.
Experience with Linux systems administration.
Experience with ServiceNow or similar incident and change management platforms.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Financial services or other regulated-industry experience.
Relevant certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, or CompTIA Security+.
