Position Summary: Maintain the operational security posture for information systems in Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting DoD agencies. Collaborate closely with ISSM and ISO on security operations, including physical protection, personnel security, incident handling, and training. Provide day-to-day support for Collateral, SCI, and SAP activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the ISSM in fulfilling duties and responsibilities.
Prepare, review, and update authorization packages.
Ensure procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying hardware and media.
Notify ISSM of changes that may impact authorization determinations.
Conduct periodic reviews of systems for compliance with security authorization packages.
Coordinate hardware, software, or firmware changes with ISSM and AO/DAO before implementation.
Monitor system recovery processes to verify security features are restored correctly.
Maintain current and accessible IS security documentation for authorized personnel.
Collect, review, and document audit records, including anomalies.
Attend technical and security training relevant to duties, such as OS, networking, and security management.
Execute cybersecurity self-inspection, including coordination and review of system assessment plans.
Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and assist with countermeasures.
Prepare reports on security safeguards for computer systems.
Perform ISSO duties for in-house and external customers.
Conduct security impact analysis for configuration management changes and report to ISSM.
Assist DoD, national agencies, and contractors with assessment and authorization (A&A) efforts.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (4+ years).
5-7 years of related experience, including at least 2 years in SAPs.
Prior experience as System Administrator, Network Administrator, or ISSO.
Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility for Special Access Program information.
Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph.
Meet DoD Directive 8570.01-M requirements for Information Assurance Technician Level II or Information Assurance Manager Level II within 6 months of hire.
Native or bilingual proficiency in English.
